2Premo...this is a good closeup of the the different cable location on the MSR Raptor ezpull unit (majority have this type of setup):

Even with the stock cable it made a world of difference but with the Venhill teflon cable...OMG!! PS. You will need to adjust from the clutch basket to take up the freeplay)

turns out you can use just about any perch/lever you want. the cagiva has a huge amount of adjustment in the basket. fit one of my spare maguras on it. its a little heavy but super freaking smooth. the large mechanical advantage of the older magura and the terminator cable have it workig well for now. maybe ill try something else after getting to ride, jet, dial suspension, etc. thanks for the help guys

yesterday was the first time it had run since the rebuild. i only rode it around my house for a few minutes but it seems ready to go out for more testing. fired up 3rd or fourth kick and started first or second after that..it was hard to start before with the kicker skipping teeth inside but now lights easily! i rode it around the house and started it wearing only my adidas shoes!..the dynoport system sounds pretty good, very deep. was surprised at how loud the intake is, it really honks when you give it a crack..

there was originally a cover on the intake, I guess most people considered them a hassle
but you can hear the intake

i figured things were going too well...having a hard time finding neutral and getting out of first gear..looks like its time to split the cases again..it seemed ok bench testing it...at least 99% of the rest of the bike is done.

Ah dw about neutral that means your not moving.

Nope mines a bugger to get neutral i polished the battel, the star spline etc, you dont need to split case more likly than not it will be the fingers that shift the drum around thats just behind the clutch cover side. Drain fluids and take that case off.
I struggle like almost impossible to find neutral unless the engines stopped.

problem was with the shifter...im using all 91 250 internals on a 93 case set. had to switch to a 93 shifter detent plastic spacer. the difference with the two plastic spacers was enough to make poor engagement with the shift drum pins..whew!

Good find i assumed your engine was original internals, so your saying it was the shift lever and the claw not being long enough? If i follow correctly.

basically, yes..it really is true what they say about doing tranny swaps on these italians...you have to swap everything! my original 95 transmission was in great shape, but most of the kicker parts were pretty bad. my 91 250 parts bike was really low hour and had an almost mint clutch basket, so i used everything from it...the idler gear caused the damage in my 95 360 motor, the boss in the case it mounts to had shifted and cracked and ruined the back of the clutch basket and any gear related to the kicker. so i got 93 360 cases and all internals from a 91 250. so now i have spares!
