Johnny come lately on this topic!!!

I have a 95, had a 2000 and a good mate has a mint condition 92 (same as yours) and aside from the motor (same bits up to the last of the 360's in 2002), there are few things that you should be aware of:
    • Frame: 92-94 frames are quite different from the 95 to 2002 so swapping tanks from later years can be a PITA.
    • Footpegs are different: 92-94 have different footpeg mounting compared to later years - again, can modify WR426/450 pegs to fit.
    • Rear shock are the same as 95-98: could use later year Sachs but there is a bit of play in the top mount that would require some bushing work.
    • Front forks: Although they use a Showa, it's different to the 95/96 43mm Showa USD's, they are a 45mm (92-94) but the top triple clamp is slightly smaller so mounting Marzocchi 45mm from a 98-2002 would require a new top bracket
    • Front Wheel: I think, needs to be verified, but the 92-94 Front wheel axle is slightly larger in diameter, handy with a lathe and you'll have to turn them down slightly to accept 95 onwards Excel Wheels.
    • Rear Wheel: Same all the way to 2002 even current.
    • Front Brakes: Nissin caliper and master cylinder: If you wanted the Brembo's from 95+, you'll need a fork leg from a 95+.
    • Rear Brakes: All Brembo and 95-2002 all fit.
    • Carb: OE is a Dellorto: Find the nearest lake and toss that carb into it - do yourself a favour and source a mikuni from a WR250 or Keihin 38mm PWK from a KTM/KX or new as they are much easier to tune - or see Motosportz for a Lectron.
    • Plastics: 92-94 are on their own in terms of tank shrouds. rears from 95-98 fit.
    • Subframe: 92-94 subframes can be interchanged with 95-98/99. 99/00 - current are slimmer.
    • Airfilter: 92-2002 and even to current.
    • Carb boot - 92-2002
    • Airbox Boot: 92-2002
    • Front Guard: Universal.
    • Rear Guard: 92-98, 99/00 and beyond require a bit of modification by way of a heat gun to mount properly on a 92-94 subframe.
    • Electrics : Unchanged through to 2002.
    • Handlebar clamps: Same as all WR's and TE's.
    • Exhaust: 92-02
Overall IMO, 92-94 motors seem to be a bit more stronger up top than my 95 and even 2000 from a stock bike POV but it's basically semantics as they are great bike!!

    good info nice list thanks
slight change, front axle as I recall same from 92-99 later are larger
do the brembos fit the 93? like the sound of that
my 92 and 93 came with mikuni dellorto is for non usa models
rears from 95-98 fit but look odd as the fit to the seat is different
put a 99 rear guard on the 93 seems Ok
electrics 92 is the odd one all others same
exhaust again 92 is the oddball

    Hey 2premo.

Later year Brembo rears fit no problem (mate's 93 is using 2k rear brembo's). Front, however, use Nissins and AFAIK, have different mounting positions so the alternative is replacing the bottom fork leg from a 95 Showa USD or making some sort of adapter - l'll confirm with my mate with the 93 and see if the 2k brembo's fit.
Front axle, never sized an 05-onwards but you maybe right and Ausky's parts listings confirms a change in part# .
Discs - AFAIK front and rear disc changed after 98, so from 92-98 they are same.
Biggest issue when trying to fit other years body work is that the 92-94 frames are slightly different terms of mounting holes.

PS. Speaking of Non-US models here so there may be slight differences.

in the states the 98 and 99 bikes are verrrry similar, 98 had conventional forks 99 had USD and the color of the tank crapkics is a little different
I had a 98 and 99 at one point recently, gave the 98 to my bro

We had those changes too from 96-98 came with conventional forks....why who knows probably to run out the Showas from the year before in preparation for marzocchi shivers??

Not to scare you off yzrider as 92-94 WR360 are great bikes but if you are planning to upgrade parts, there are limitations as with all bikes. The best bit is that Husqvarna's are pretty interchangable in terms of parts within the 2 and 4t ranges and throughout the years...CH is the best source to ask these questions.

Good luck with your purchase... l don't believe in a lemon of a bike, unless you've bought a bike with a bent frame, only lemon owners
