It's my first bike and I'm in love with my 2014 TE250.

I live in southeastern New Mexico, theres mostly loose sand trails, and tons of dreaded whoops and this bike doesn't seem to handle them very well.. but theres also lots of rock caliche sections with rolling rock hill climbs and ditches between the fairly common canyons.. I was wondering if I would benefit from sending my suspension off to Zip ty.. I mean, can this suspension really be tuned for such diverse conditions ?

Just got my suspension back from Zipty. I'm excited to get it back on and see how it feels.

Can anyone explain to me how the new base valves work? Is the screw in the bottom now for rebound on both forks and the two top adjusters for compression like on an open chamber fork?

Thanks guys. I'll let you know how it works. I'm gonna race with it at the Oreana 100 in a few weeks and hopefully round 3 of the nationals.

Tinken - I need some stickers too!

looks like zippy is providing new base valves with compression adjustment just like Kreft and race tech offer.
    any idea on price?

Just had mine done by them, I think the base valves are the $80 4cs mod parts item.

Yeah so I did have zip Ty redo my suspension on 2 bikes this winter a kx500 aluminum frame with KYB's and my 14' fe350. My 500 is set for ice and the woods suspension works really well and is comfortable haven't messed with it much since it seems to work but I'm sure I'd tweek it if I rode woods with it. Does The fe350 work as I'm sure some are wondering? Yes, yes it does! Its been so cold that I know I'll have to keep tweeking it as I get used to things. I noticed the front forks immediately feel I guess "normal" for lack of a better term, the front feels more planted and definitely got the harshness to go away and just feels nice and progressive so far. I was pounding through some fast sand whoops and have to go up on comp and tweek rebound a bit as expected but it didn't do anything weird and felt predictable . I'm a little confused by the sag numbers I was told to get as close to 100 race and 40 (40 seems like a lot?) static as I could but at 100 race I'm at like 30-33 static so I may need to drop a few pounds since I'm kinda in between springs technically or re check once its warmer and broke in lol. The rear felt good in the trail but seemed to skip (swap, pack) a bit on trail bumps and jumps and on the whoops so some clicker adjustments will be done. Knowing what I spent on two other re springs and one local revalve I should have just done this dirt thing. I think once I can dial this in it will be so much better so I'm happy and looking forward to warmer weather. I also think I pretty much miss read the price chart and didn't realize you add the 4cs revalve,4cs mod, spring, parts and oil all together and then the same for the rear minus the 4cs mod since there isn't one. So my total was just over $600 front and rear with front springs and with $50 of that as shipping one way. So higher than I thought but cheaper than even my local guy so its still a win.

Shiny blue parts at the end of your forks. They are actually compression adjusters made out of 7075 aircraft aluminum. This allows for real adjustment, which the oem 4CS forks currently lack.

A little different. We use a smaller bleed hole, so the compression adjust shaft is a bit stronger. And the entire slug is made from a billet of 7075, rather than 6061, so when you ding it a few times in the rocks, you're still going to be able to remove it. Paul's looks a bit hefty, so ours is probably lighter. Other than that, not much you can change on them.

I'd love to be able to put more details on the site, please send requests to Support@ZipTyRacing.com.

Tinken, maybe you could answer this? I was adjusting the rear shock, the high speed, and when I turn it either way oil was leaking out. I was not turning the big black nut. Is this OK?
Also I'm about 4-5 clicks out on fork compression where it feels good and wanted to know if I should add oil or do anything? I've just never been that close to tapped out on other bikes before. Thanks!
