  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

04 TE 250..What to look for...

racemx904

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Going to buy this 04 TE 250 with 212 miles on the odo....it is owned by an old guy and really kept his stuff up....it has a Revlock clutch, EE handguards, and the whole 9 yards...

What type of stuff should I look for on this thing?

It looks pretty clean...I am gonna ride it this weekend....

It has been lowered..How do I remove it? is it a lonk or in the shock?

Check your valves periodically. The valves on some of the '04's tend to move up into the head. If the valve measurement goes below .004, re-shim and check after a while. If they move again, consider changing to stainless. One tell tale sign is the bike will be extremely hard to start so pay attention to how it starts now. Some people have had issues with the Mikuni carb. If it runs well, don't mess with it. Mine has run clean since day one. Change the air filter and oil frequently and might be a good idea to look into a carb vent line filter. There is a crank case vent tube on the right hand side of the engine, connected to the valve cover. Sometimes that tube can get too close to the exhaust and develop a hole. If that be the case, use a zip-tie to raise the hose up and out of the way. Keep us posted on how you're doing with the bike and if you run into questions, do a search. There is tons of information on valve checks and such.
Have fun!
