• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey guys im looking at getting an 2007 stock te 610. its got aprox 21000 km or 13000 miles. the guy wants 5k for it. im up in canada so bikes always cost a little more. timing chain has been done recently, id like to take it down to mexico this spring, and use it as my daily.

what do you guys think? any input is great!

thanks!

Thanks that gives me some confidence. How is the part availability with husky going through bmw and now ktm. is it easy to get motor parts? bearings or rings etc.

Is that 5k Canadian? I agree its a bit pricey, but if its been treated well it should have plenty of life left on it. Apart from the timing chain thing, the 610 is a robust runner.

As far as I know there are no issues with parts at the moment. KTM are committed to continued support of these bikes. The 610 was made for a good while and has a large common pool of parts with the other huskies, which helps I think (this thread is amusing).

Are you planning to ride it down to Mexico?

mexico fell through this year but eventually id like too. I got the bike for 4500 Canadian, new timing chain, heated grips and some other goodies. theres not very many of these where I live! I own 50% of the huskys ive seen in BC! ( not including dealerships, maybe I don't get out much)
