Not to hijack this thread and both the Up-Tite and the Motosportz aluminum plates are great products, but you should also consider P3s Kevlar/Fiberglass/Carbon Fiber skid plates.

These are mostly used back on the east coast for enduros and GNCC racing.

Condition on the eastern USA are very similar to the UK and you might want to also consider their product.

Key benefit is it's all but impossible to break and it doesn't dent or get bent like the aluminum plates, but again they are all good products.

I've got a Leo Vince universal fiber guard on the rear of my header, but it doesn't cover as good as that. Those look sweet.

I have an Up-Tite plate on my TE 450 and it has held up very well to the rocks of the northeast. I had a carbon skid on my last bike and it did not break, but I did get a ding in the frame under the carbon skid plate. Flying through a puddle that ended up deeper than I thought and there was a mountain of a rock hidden for me to whack. I stick with the hard stuff now.

I'm very happy with my Uptite skid plate. It took a real beating at the Moonshine this year and protected the bike very nicely. I did tear one of the rear flanges, but it did it's job with regard to protecting the bike and a friend who is a very good TIG welder fixed my minor tear very nicely. I mostly ride SJ woods, but that PA run was a war for me and I really am impressed with the plate. Also, I used to have a TT plate on my DRZ and that thing was a mud shovel. The Uptite plate doesn't get clogged up like it did and I have to assume it's good for the running temp of my little 4 stroke in these tight woods.

I have the Utah plate on my 610 and have beat the hell out of it out here in Colorado. Last bashing I gave it I hit a rock so hard and fast that it sent me one way into a pile of rocks and the bike the other way. Damage to the bike was minimal but still there, leaving me me wondering how a another plate would have performed in this case.

Damage:

- Slightly bent in and dented frame rail
- Oil pump cover bolt was bent by the plate, causing the cover to break.

Could have been worse, I guess...I wasn't happy about the bent frame rail though.

Doesn't really show actual damage that well but gives an idea. I think i'll be getting an uptite by next spring.

+1 on the Hydracing plate. I have one on my DRZ and that thing has taken amazing abuse.

Don't see one for the 610 though.

Uptite bash plate

Just my .02. Georges plates are my choice. Lots of airflow, beautiful welds, covers the oil window and you just gotta love the gunsight logo! I have researched the topic just waiting to get the OK from my SO. I am pretty sure I saw them for sale at my local husky dealer too.
