  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

08 TE 450 Power up Kit (availablility/service/rant)

Freakhead

Husqvarna
C Class
Am looking to buy a power up kit for the 08 TE 450 I bought. Have contacted 3 dealers in Western Canada, including where i purchased from. Their responses are of 2 varieties: "we'll make some calls and get back to you"..and don't OR they don't respond to initial inquiries (due to my restrictions of work, I conduct a lot of business either via internet or vm's after hours...rant coming......it amazes me in this day & age that some businesses dont respond to emails...i bought my truck, 2 bikes, laptop & vacations over email and only met the salesperson when bringing in the money (not to mention ebay spending)...yet some businesses view it as a nuicance they can ignore :banghead:back to my regularly scheduled thread

Long and short, anyone recently bought a powerup kit? if so can you point a noob in the right direction? thanks!

If there is one in the NW USA that would work out as I likely am going down to a buddy's place in Beaverton, Oregon at the end of the month. (any dealers in portland?).

On an unrelated note, if anyone is down that way and is selling a kids dirtbike (85), let me know as I have a buddy interested...

Good night now.

My local dealer could not get one for me. I opted for the the Uptite power up kit. It's supposed to be quieter than arrow, comes with a spark arrestor, and the same price the local dealer wanted. I hope to see it some time this week.

You need to call someone in eastern canada...

I will do so or does that 'someone' deal via email or PM.

That might be a plan B, does it come with the sensor bypass? I could not find pricing on the uptite site is my browser doing odd things? If you don't mind sharing the price would you PM me? If not, no worries....

Thanks for the leads, I love the internet & this site!

I like the phone but will respond by email as well.

No dealer in Portland. Tasky's in Everett, Wa is very responsive and helpful, at least on the phone. Not sure about email. I would give them a try.
