• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

09 TE 510 Tail Light Options

Thanks for the link. I was considering the Baja Designs piece but decided to keep looking after reading something about dirt/water getting in it. I really like the tail light on the 2010 bikes like on Husqvarna-Motorcycles.com. I figured it was a aftermarket or UFO piece like the one that came with my bike. I was guessing someone on here would know where to get one. As for the UFO piece that came with the bike... its a real PIA to get it wired right. All I could get to work was the running light so I took it back off. I tried every wiring combination possible. The running and brake LEDs both work fine connected directly to the battery, but wired up it wouldnt. Any ideas regarding that? I also didnt really like the idea of drilling holes in the fender of a new bike. Thanks

I'm liking the DRC Edge II

Lights won't work properly and entirely until bike is running. Same with headlight...at least on 2008s.

I have 2 BD LED tail lights and run the snot out of the one on the TE. I have never had a problem, you do need to drill holes in the fender but with the hardware supplied it looks fine. No big deal at all. And YES, THE BIKE MUST BE RUNNING FOR LIGHTS TO WORK!

heres mine, same rear end as 09 bike , not a great pic but is led brake and tai light.. 2 bolts through rear guard and plugs into harness..2 mins to remove if going riding into the forest.but hasnt got damaged so far in there and ive dropped it and fell off a fair amount !

Thanks for all the input. I think I'm going to go ahead and drill some holes. I felt bad doing that when the bike had zero miles on it. Now that the miles are getting up there I don't have as much hesitation.

I would go with the 2010 tail light version if I could find one.. oh well .. I'm sure I will be happy when its finished.

Thanks again for the input.
