I've done some searching in various forums regarding the differences between these two models and from what I understand they have the same bottom engine, meaning same transmission, but different top. It seems that the top of the TXC is that of a TC. Is this correct and does this mean that the TXC will rev up quicker than the TE... and would handle more like a motocross bike?
My riding includes some single track, a lot of double track gravel dirt roads, dessert, dry river beds (round loose golf ball size pebbles) and some paved back roads to connect trails. I know I can add lights to the TXC and get it plated in my area. Is the stator and output exactly the same on both bikes?
I know the TE 450 suits my needs perfectly, but I'm a bit wary about FI and the gas pump failing out in the middle of nowhere. The other reason I'm considering the TXC is that my local dealer can get me a better deal on the TXC.
We normally ride for 8 or 10 hours so I intend to change the seat and gas tank on either model, but I'm wondering if the same aftermarket seats, tanks, tail racks, etc are available for both models.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
