  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

thers been a cubby of quail out here since we built the house 15 years ago. i dont mess with them though. i have noticed the increase in doves around the track area!! and we have a ton of rabbitts im goin to have a war with this year. i havent done much bird hunting(much of any hunting really) either but im thninking of joining a club they ahve pheasant, quail, dove squirrel turkey and deer. they are too damn high on the deer n turkey though. brucie wanted to go turkey huntin this year so we went. didnt get one but at least seen one. you guys hunt the deer differently out ther from what ive seen we sit in trees here yall glass em then use the rifle. that might be more my style at least your movin around a lil bit. im goin to try to make it to my buddies texas ranch this year to get one possibly.

You gotta be careful with the doves also ... You light them up a couple days in a row, they might become scarce, quickly... Squirrels are the most fun to hunt I think ...ESP on a wet drizzly day where they move around all day and the woods are quite and you can slip around and not be heard ...

oh we have those too, both brucie and my niece jasmine(really me too i havent been squirrel hunting since my early teens) are looking forward to that this year. that actually opens soon but too hot the first month of the season usually.

You gotta learn to listen out here ... move slow, be stealth :) ... watching for sign never hurts also ...
