  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I had a friend of mine who is a 40B rider in HS and enduros run out of gas this weekend after 21 miles. We were riding the ISDE qualifier in Missouri so conditions were tight, technical, and muddy.

Is this possible? 21 miles? I was running my stock tank on my 08 CR 125 and had at least 1/3 of a tank after the 29 mile gas available.

Anything is possible and it happened! I haven't really checked mileage on my '09 yet, but was hoping for 40+ miles on the tank. I want a larger tank, so I'm confident to 50 miles. .7 gal less in his tank than yours. When they set the bike up, did they set float height and did he dial the jetting in after he broke it in or just running preferred settings from power up kit?

FWIW on my 09 TXC250 I seem to be getting more mileage out of the stock tank every ride, stretched 40 out of it today averaging 18MPH for the whole ride,I may drain the tank and see whats left! cant be much, may not need a big tank for the four stroke after all if I can get 45 out of it

I did a race this weekend on my 09 wr12 that I went into the reserve at about 34 miles. I finished the race on reserve. I want to drain the tank and see how close it was. The reserve lasted the last 5 miles.

Some bikes had ridiculously log reserve tubes, lets hope this is the case. All this is scaring me. :D

Wow, that sux, I'm used to more like 25. Guess thats what happens when you hold a 38mm carb wide open for hours.
