  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

11 TE 310 vs 11 TE 449/511 ?

short and sweet................i have riden a 2011 te310 and a 2011 te511 both these bikes are great .but what do you want out of a bike????

for me if i had to have one it would be a 310 very user freindly and the 511 to much power for the riding i do

rode similar bikes yesterday,i was so impressed with txc449 toss around like a bmx bike. i think if felt lighter or as light as the te310 i rode. it had too much power for me though ,i like to rev the crap out of my bikes and i would end up in the trees trying to do it on that 449.It seemed to be too easy to go fast. Jumping with the 310 would be more like a 250f u need to beat her a little to clear a nice tabletop, the 449 just a little burp would send u flying.U try beating the 449 over the same jump and u would be in the clouds. I think it all depends on what kind of rider u are and what kind of riding u do. for mx and woods/single track bike i would go 310 , but for more road use/open trails i go 449. Go ride both if u can you will know what u want after the first 5 minutes. Just my $.02
