  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

'12 TXC310 Build Up

AFAIK it has the 12 port injector and race ECU that all the TE owners have installed.

I believe you will see it listed in parts catalog as a TXC part.

So what about the 12 port injector? Does my bike already have that? And can anything be done about the throttle stiffness?

TXC should already have it. Easy to verify. If it is yellow, no. If it is green, yes. The throttle on my '12 TE 310 is not stiff. It rotates easily and snaps back with authority when released. Check your cable routing to make sure it is not binding somewhere. If you have barkbusters, make sure the end of the grip is not rubbing, and make sure the inboard "flange" part of the grip is not rubbing on the throttle housing.

if its a 2012 blackhead TXC310 yes it has the mikuni FI "TE race kit" ECU and 12 port injector. (that was the spec I did my 2011 TE310 to).
You have the TXC/race kit ECU, I dont know about anyone elses TXC310 spec blackhead but mine never had one issue with hesitations/stalling/HP/torque/starting hot or cold etc etc. intake side was stock , header stock, muffler was a Ti 2010 TC250 muffler with dB-S/A cap installed for enduro legal sound and S/A requirements.

Im sure if u go full open on the pipe there may some adjustments to be made. I preferred it as it was, it was bullet proof for many rides races (Nat H&H, ISDE 2 day qualifiers) and fun trail ride days through some really tough terrain.

I run the same 2010 TC250 pipe with SA.

Pretty quiet and much lighter than stock.

So, you can use the HST to power up your ecu, which is semi-expensive and limited. Or you can add a PCV which is what we did when we were the factory team. There's about a ^+2 hp gain on a stock engine, crank & head port should be closer to 8hp.

Well I know for a fact that the 2013 has a lighter throttle turn then the 2012's. I am not the only one who has mentioned this. It's not a huge issue, just something I thought maybe I could sort out while I cant ride.

Try a G2 throttle tamer? Honestly, mine is pretty slick. Any lighter and it would be hard to control.

It's not a huge issue for me, so if their isn't an easy cheap fix I will just leave it be. I don't notice it that much anyway. But thank you guys. Hopefully in a few more weeks I will be riding again. I go back to the hand specialist on the 28th and hopefully get some good news, but I think I have amasses to much scar tissue build up where the surgery was and will have to have it worked on again. Just want to ride again!

Got my new foot pegs in. They look alright, but how they preform is what is important. Got okay news from the doctor. I have amassed some scar tissue but it will heal itself, bad news is that it will take 5 months!!! Holy Cow! I'm hoping to be back on the bike in 1 or 2 weeks ideally though. Not sure how well it will go.

If anyone is interested, I am selling my ZipTy Racing FMF Factory 4.1 exhaust. It will come with everything you need except for the longer bolts. I am also selling the quiet insert (bought this separately though fmf) and the spark arrestor (also bought separately through fmf). I recently rode the bike back to back with the stock exhaust and was shocked how much extra snap this exhaust brought to the table. Let me know if you or anyone else is interested.

Here today to report that my husky has moved on. I traded it in on a new bike today. It was a good bike in the woods but I needed something that can pull duel duty between motocross and woods riding a little better. If anyone lives near camp hill, PA they may see my bike floating around eventually. I don't plan on leaving the thread though because I think of all the brands and all the forums out there this is the best on, period. Thumper talk is great but this forum is a great expansion of knowledge for husky users where as I don't think any other forums are as centered around a brand as this one.

I haven't gotten to ride it much yet. Got it yesterday and rode it around the yard just a little bit, but their are some real differences you can feel right away. Power...the 350 has a good bit more then I expected. It is a pleasant surprise. The suspension is CRAZY STIFF and the bike sits really tall. I am only 5'7", but I had two friends, both over 6' tall say my bike felt really tall. One of them has a ktm 450sxf with a tall seat and raised bars, and he said my bike was as tall as his if not taller. For me that translates into very difficult to touch and it doesn't lean over as easy as the husky. We will see how well it performs on the track later on this week if Im lucky but over all I love the look of the bike (was going to post a pic but can't find camera) and the power. I think it needs remapped to be honest, I think it's lean on the bottom, but that's an easy fix, Tokyo mods already said they can reprogram my ecu for cheap. New ignition and fuel setting for around 90-100 dollars. I am excited about the bike though.
