  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc 125 thread

absolutely shattered after today. 29km loop of fast, whooped out sand tracks & some clay/gravel sections all with flowing berms(courtesy of 250 bikes & quads). weather held out but a bit more rain in the lead up would have been good as dust was a bit average. sand dries out quick though. once race was underway & everyone spaced out on the track it wasn't too bad though.

did a sighting lap(whats with the wankers that wanna 'win' the sighting lap?! its called a sighting lap for a reason just cruise single file ya dicks:thumbsdown:) & some bloke managed to hit a sweep/marshall & break his arm(his not the sweeps)! another bloke with 'fkn dickhead' written on back of his jersey(I shit you not!) came screaming around me then coupla hundred meters later I went past him lying on the floor tangled up with an older fella on an Italian husky 4T. he got back up & again came screaming around me again a km later:censored: . serious wanker. living up to his namesake I guess! I spoke to the husky fella later & he told me he just flat out rear ended him & punted him into a tree. he was gobsmacked why hed ride like that-dangerous when ya not expecting ie during the race & even then it was a fundraiser event! I woulda made sure he couldn't start the race if he did that to me!

anyway managed 6 laps in total for race over 4 hours(ironman no partner) plus one sighting lap so 203km all up for the day!:applause: no get offs at all, coupla close calls as I was getting tired toward the end but bars didn't touch the ground so pretty happy with that. fuelled up after second lap, which was a bit of an excuse for a drink as didn't wear a camelback, but bike only took 5-6 litres so did 3 laps before next refuel then one final lap. only stopped for quick drink & refuel so 2 mins max each stop. coulda got away with one refuel as 3 laps didn't even hit reserve! a fair bit of deep sand & some long straights so a lot of WFO. pretty happy with my efforts as didn't do much training & still a few kg overweight(ideal weight:D). they had a problem with ironman timing so not sure what I finished but will find out in the next few days/week. hopefully top 5-10 outta 40 starters. if the winner did anymore than 7 laps I will probably cry as I was fairly well spent after 6(was kind of relieved when they waved us in at final checkpoint) & rode at a fair pace all day.

125 loved every minute of it! poor little thing had its ring hanging out all day but didn't miss a beat(a few shifts though;) from my end)

Epic! What a tosser as for sighting lap glory some just want too mess it up for everyone else. Glad you completed it and no get offs ? You wernt trying!

yeah young punks eh no respect! oh I was trying mate my body at this point would vouch for it. be nice to be fitter & have had the 300 there but by the same token the 125 so easy to pull up into corners & manhandle towards the end

kind of like riding 200+km of the riding we did when you were here mate but bit faster/more open in some parts. coupla good jumps too. someone nailed a roo during first or second lap. I just saw him laying across track dead. not a big one maybe 4 feet tall but was on a long fast straight(6th tapped!) so if it was a bike it woulda been interesting. probably a quad id say(damn them things are loud & blokes can ride em but they don't like the whoops-understandable I guess. destroy the track lines though!). anyway skippy is in heaven tonight. poor skippy:cry:

Ha i killed one too lol ha but yeh a quad omg gunna be a stain on that blokes pants for sure!
More jumps? Dont think i could of handled that im front heavy an i chop the throttle on take off.

The Yamaha add says Port, maybe that's limited to grinding a radius on the ports at the cyl. I'll ask them to specify before I send them anything.

How did you like the 139?

I like the 139. Definitely pulls better than the 125. Anything over a 144, and it usually doesn't rev enough for my liking. I would recommend the kit if it were ported correctly.
