• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 125 to 150 or 200

What I would do is convert the YZ to a 139 - have a look on the Max power website they say its the best and better than 144

I have heard many reports about the yz 125 being preferred to the 144

The 139 may the best for keeping top end - over-rev but also more low to mid .

In the husky I still think the 125 is the best fun motor and it sings the most sweetly after recently switched from 125 to 144 to 165 to 125 to 165 and back to 144 again
Would like to try the 177 kit too . Didn't like the 09 ktm 200 power delivery - too abrupt and no top end
Loved the mid of a Yz125 .

Would like to try 139 kit and probably will as I have a damaged 125 cylinder

(Or buy a ktm 150 if you like the ktm )

That's pretty interesting and reasonably priced especially if you're due for a re-plate and a top end.

here's the link http://www.maxrpms.com/yz139-big-bore/

My yz125 already has a fatty pipe, turbincore silencer and V force 3 reeds so it makes about all the mid a 125 is capable of. It also has extensive suspension and chassis mods which means that if I sell it I'll lose the money invested so I'd rather keep it. I'm going to file the 139cc in my brain and probably go to it when my top end says uncle.

I can comment on this because a buddy just bought a 15 ktm 200 xc-w and I own a 13 wr165. I should start by saying I love my wr165 great bike and will keep it till there is nothing left to ride. My bike has stock suspension which I find great for off road and I weigh 200 pounds but will get revalved next year.. On mx track no way to soft compare to my ktm 250sx. But it has ktm 200sx pipe, lectron. For off road nothing better and reliable. Rode 15 ktm 200 for 30 mins off road in are regular riding area so very good comparsion since I just got off my wr. I really like the 200 suspension was very nice and soft for off road but still when going fast on rough stuff held up well. 200 had a little more bottom end grunt but not the top end blast wr has but close motors seem to have about same power. Eclectic start is great and bike felt the same weight as wr. 200 felt a little higher seat height than wr. Over all I would buy one to replace my wr for off road if and when I need to. Would I trade I don t think so like the wr corning and general handling better. 200 did feel a lot like 250 sx in handling just softer. I paid around $5500.00 for my bike total guarded and modded to 165 ready to race think 200 was over $8000.00 stock so another $1000 to guard it up and ready to race. Funny how similar the two bikes are. Also should add that Canadian dollars. One more bad thing about 200 is the pipe hangs very low in the front like my 250sx and will get in the way of rocks and logs not sure how to fix that my wr is pretty good for pipe clearance.

So has anyone made a new Husky TE125 into TE200 yet? I did see the TC125/200 conversion on FB a few months back. I'm on a 2008 KTM 200XC/XCW hybrid now that I really like but I'm looking at switching things up, particularly with the linkage. If there are any TE200's out there, I'd like to hear about them!
