• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

'13 TR650 Strada License Plate Mounting Bracket

Husky Greg

Husqvarna
Just bought a new Strada!! The guys at the dealer told me not to use the mounting bracket for the license plate because it may brake the rear plastic fender. Has anyone had an issue with the mounting bracket?

Here are some shots of what I did on mine. Super simple/cheap and does the trick just fine. Just need 2 bolts. Stack of washers. 2 nylock nuts. and a 1"x1/8" by maybe 7" piece of aluminum bar. Use the original bracket and your license plate to mark the holes.

If you wanted to, you could use the reflective plate bolts to cover the reflector requirements.

To answer your question directly, YES. Don't use it. Do some searches here, there at least a few threads on the matter, and various solutions.

Everyone else has said to remove it. This is good advice. My tail fender broke on a trail and I've spent three months waiting for a new one to deliver from Husqvarna. Getting a broken rear fender requires hitting some bumps with all that weight on there. if you MUST use the bracket, build some bars that can bolt onto the Muffler brackets to the tail lights bolts.

Getting a new fender is taking forever, so I went and spent $200USD on the R&G Tail Tidy because I had to move the bike and don't own a truck or trailer/want to start riding again... I also don't recommend the Tail Tidy. It looks okay from a distance, but the parts fit is not decent at all. It's probably the worst fender eliminator I've seen/worked with.

I have a brand new one if someone wants it? Removed my stock rear fender when I bought the bike. Now that I sold teh bike, i just found it... Pay for shipping and its yours.

Hi daniel, I sent you a pm regarding the fender, if you still have any of the other extras, I would be interested in them also. Thanks alot!

I will check to see how much shipping is... its the only part i have left. Whats you address / location to ship to?
