• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 14' TE 300 larger fuel tank options

PDL

Husqvarna
AA Class
I've been thinking about adding a larger tank for some of the dual sport rides I'm planning this year. I have always used IMS in the past as they have great customer service but the only tank they have for the TE 300 is 3.1 gallons. Not much help. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, George

I've sent an email to Acerbis asking if the KTM tank will fit the Husky. It does not look like there are many options. May be back to carrying fuel in bottles.

I forgot to say you have to trim the front of the seat to make the KTM tank fit, but that is no big deal, easy job.

the race team were using KTM tanks with white KTM plastic and Husky graphics to get more tank size, you can see the 2014 race bikes from some of the series like GNCC for example. I heard that they were told to cease and only use Husky stuff. the base chassis is XC Kato so the tank hard mount points are the same, the plastic mount points are not (Husa/Husq vs KTM plastic design). So if you are really into a big tank I would go with the XC Kato tank and do whatever mods are desired. Its only an issue of plastics adjustments/cuts/grinds etc, simple mods.

Thanks for all the info. I received a reply from Acerbies and they do not currently make a tank (4+- gallon) for the TE300. They were unsure if the KTM 2stk would transfer. I really would just like about an extra gallon so I will probably just carry some extra in bottles or consider one of the auxiliary tanks.

Not to sell more Lectrons but... Many customers are getting 3-6 more MPG with the Lectrons and not needing a bigger tank. If your bike holds 2.5 gallons you might get 10-15 more miles out of it. Just sold one to a friend with a YZ250 and he is not taking his big tank off as he has much more range. Just food for thought ot a different way to slice it. My personal Lectron equipped bikes are seeing this increase. My WR500 2 stroke beast is getting 6+ MPG better than the stock carb and has a 3.5 gallon tank so I gained 21+ miles range which is huge for me. I went form about 60 miles range to like 85.

I had not thought of the Lectron, that's certainly an option. I hope to do a mileage test this weekend and the Lectron may get me the right numbers.

Yep that thing is a tanker. Saved me from having to push into Trona. Call Ty and ask what he has. I think it may be an IMS? Not sure if Dalton's HnH bike has a larger than stock tank, but if it does, that's a much closer match.
