• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I can't get a hold of an owners manual and would like to change the trans oil. I found the drain plug on the bottom, but does the new oil go into the fitting where the vent tube is? Thanx

Not sure if there is much difference between the 72 and the 73, but I put 1500cc's in my 73.
If you need more information, let me know. I have the original owners manual that came with mine and it has all the other specs as well.

I have used both ATF Type F and my favorite, Bel Ray Gear Saver. Forrest recommends Bel Ray, so I only use ATF if I'm riding in the winter months.

Gord, would you be willing to make me a copy of your 1973 Owners manual? I would be happy to pay you for materials and your time and effort. If you choose not to, it is ok, I know its a pain.
Thanks
Mark

I'm thinking I might be able to scan it and send it to you that way. If I can figure out how!
I will need your email address.
I also have an old Clymer manual that covers your 72. Remember, mine's a 73, but there probably isn't that much difference.
You might be able to find the Clymer manual on line. But my original manual that came with the bike has all the neat little bits of information like which nuts are right hand and which ones are left.

Gord, I did buy the Clymer and Haines manuals, which are helpful but they don't cover the small details that I have been struggling with.

Can you send me a copy albud83@gmail.com. Thanks.
