• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I balked at the price of chemicals so I went with the old school molasses.

You used molasses to de-rust your tank? Learn something new every day. What did you use to get the molasses out of the tank, gasoline?

Yup, molasses. Works great. There are a number of videos on you tube.

Rinse with H2O and dry with a heat gun.

Store bought molasses works but the stuff from the feed store is better.

Haven't done anything to the 450. I have moved and building a garage. In the meanwhile I came upon 75 360CR that was listed on Craigslist. I'll post pictures when I pick it up.

Pretty excited to have it. It does need a magneto but otherwise complete.

A 75 360cr, very cool. That model has an interesting history to it from its development to wining the 74 500cc motocross world championship piloted by the Flying Finn.

Looks like a really nice bike. Boy what a difference this one will be to ride compared to your 450. I raced a 360cr after racing a 450 Desert Master for a couple years. The 360 screams in RPM's compared to the 450 but it doesn't come close to the low end grunt of the big bore. The 360 power curve comes on slow until the RPM gets up there then it takes off like a frigging missile.

Thanks guys. I am looking forward to this ride.

She comes without an ignition system and the pipe is missing the guts for the silencer but other than that it's all there.

Hopefully I'll be in the new shop by June. I'll have more room than I did at the apartment garage.

Any one have a workshop manual for the 360 in PDF?

I cant download the manual from Café Husky for some reason, I have tried two different computers and internet connections.

Thanks.

The only one I have is what came from this website before they disappeared. If you didn't hear about the disappearance of tech docs see this thread. http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/cafehusky-manuals-gone.83234/

The document is actually a combination of MK/ML bikes. If sometime in the past you downloaded the MK workshop manual from this website for your 450 then you have the ML workshop manual as well. :D

If you didn't download it I have it but the PDF is 73MB.

Regarding the manual - is there a specific assembly that you are immediately interested in? The reason I ask, is those specific pages could be copied and sent to you. Most email providers have a 25MB limit on attachments.

I was looking for those parts specific to the 360 engine.

Crash pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks guys

I just read the reason the files are not opening.

Nice clean good looking Husky. Little better condition than the 450 was when you started!!!
PM'd you links to the MK/ML manuals for download. Anyone else needing them send me a PM.

The exhaust is missing the silencer parts.
What I am looking for are 10,11,12 and 62 from this diagram.
If anyone has one or all of these I would be glad to pay for the parts and shipping.

The seller said I would need an ignition system for this bike. The 360 has the FEMSA and it is all there but no spark.

Looking briefly I think I will begin by making sure there are good bare metal to metal contact between the frame and engine and between the coil and frame. The frame has been powder coated.

If that all pans out and no spark then I will pull the flywheel and look at the points/condenser.

Does anyone have any pointers here such as testing the ignition primary coil/secondary coil and condenser?

Any caveats on setting up the points/timing?

Thanks again for your help.
