• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1974 450 Wr

Hey guys, first post here. Question for you. My dad has a 1974 450 WR that he bought brand new. It's been sitting in pieces for damn near 30 years, but the engine was oil up before being put away. He's looking to sell it now (all major components and most of the nuts and bolts are there). He painted everything when he took it apart I believe, and other than a lot of dust and maybe some minor surface rust on some pieces, everything else is in great shape. Just looking for an idea on what it might be worth.

I'll give you $450.00 :)

Be kinda hard to get it to you :) But seriously, we have no idea what to ask for it or what to accept for it. Originally my dad was just going to give it to me, and I would take it but I just don't have the time to rebuild it or the space to keep it (In reality, I probably could find the space but the wife says I gotta get ride of shit first :) ). A friend of mine who races motocross and rebuilds dirt bikes said he'd take it if it's a good price, but I don't even know what a good price would be. I mean, I don't wanna say it's yours for $100 and then come to find out we could've gotten a lot more for it, or say you can have it for $500 and he says no and come to find out it's not worth $100, know what I mean?

Eightballrider,

This is my favorite era of Huskies! I'm pretty interested. Where are you located? I'm in Colorado. Wouldn't mind a drive to pick something up, though.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the bike/parts?

Last year I bought an almost complete '73 CR 400 for $400, I think a lot of it depends on condition, and I would be willing to give you a fair offer based on the condition/completeness of everything. I'll send you a PM.
