• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1976 Husky 360 WR Done

Again I'm going to state you guys know 1,000 times more than me but I do know manufacturing. If by the end of the run of 76's isnt it possible that the coming 77 parts like the air box and mag cover would be used on any remaining 76's vs making more of the 76 parts for a couple hundred bikes? This bike just doesnt have the feel of one cobbled together.

With Husqvarna the opposite, that leftover '76 parts got used on early '77s before the newer parts were in, is infinitely more likely. In addition, the WRs would have been the last bikes to get "new" parts, they would have gone to the CRs first, WRs always got stuck with leftover stuff.

Having said that, your bike does not look cobbled together, other than the shocks, airbox cover and the mag cover, its pretty stock and those things would have been common owner swaps at that time.

Ok then new shocks it is. I mounted the kick stand and its about 2 inches too short. So I agree the shocks GTG. So which ones are not 1/2 the price of the bike that someone would recommend?

The mik carb is definitely an improvement over a bing the mag covers are interchangable no big deal i think your bike looks great for a unrestored 36yr old brut. The 2 i picked up last summer next to yours mine would make yours look like a museum piece mine are kinda ruff but when i get them done a guy can really appreciate what he has acomplishment. Are you sure its not a 77?

Progressive Suspension will be the cheapest new shock option, and they work good, but they are not rebuildable, Progressive has 13.5 and 14" shocks that would work. The least expensive new rebuildable shock would be Works Performance. Some people love Curnutt shocks, but I have never cared for them.

Ok so I have the solution. Its free, I'm heavy and my race sag is right where it should be when my big butt sits on the bike especially since I'm also tall so i sit back on the seat. The only time it is high is sitting by itself, which doesnt matter to me. If I put the two side number plates back on you can't even tell. The only problem may be when jumping and landing both front and rear wheel at the same time and since my jumping days are pretty much over thats it.

sounds good it cant hurt to try i gotta wait a few more months before i can get mine out 2' of snow on the ground still. good luck
