• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1977 360 auto

Thanks guys, i got it sorted. The main clutch sprauge was reversed:o and i was not rotating the trans when i was trying to manually de-clutch. So i am learning. And i think the beer helped! I'll have George repair the small gear shaft and engagement gear in March, then I'll have both setups.:D

Thanks for videos, I have to clean the carb again as it did not respond to the idle adjuster or choke. I also did not have the chain on, I was afraid it might run away as I have never really started one and want to get it running on the low end before I try the brakes out!

Masked the tank and got it painted today. A little wet sanding then decals and trim paint and she's ready for clear. Not perfect but the best I could do, my first paint job!

No pics of the top of an 1977 auto tank? OK, is the don't engage decal above or below the fill hole?:( Is the use only vegetables oil above or below the fill hole? :excuseme: I think the Made in Sweden is way up near the top of the tank? Should they be on the side of the tank?:thumbsdown:Heelp before I clear them on?!!:notworthy:

my 77 auto only has two decals on the top of the tank. I have the engage decal and the made in Sweden decal. The engage decal is just above the fill hole and the Sweden decal is at the top of the tank. I've never posted any pics on here but I guess I could give it a go if you need it.Just measured mine, the engage decal is 1" above the fill hole and the Sweden is 1/2" above the engage decal.

Thank You, redman!! I will use your recommendations!:applause: I now have a spare, Use only vegetable oil decal! I have never seen the way these tanks look so all info is really welcome.:oldman: I am doing the best I can with the info I have, but being that this POS was mangled when I got it, I want to thank all of you for the help, redman , you are a step above!! Chris

Rode the bike today!!:busted: The guy who goes my striping is out of the county, so i rigged the 73 rt tank to the bike and took it around the parking lot. A little nervous, but we have 1st gear, haven't gone fast enough to check the other three!;) Maybe next week after work. My wife taped the proceedings and was not happy because of the boot on my foot.:( I think I'll get her a beer!
