• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

They are one and the same. I figured that I might as well have a spare front guard, so I had no issue ordering both.

From Randall at Vintage Dirt Bike Parts.

Also had time to fit the headlamp and front number board, along with speedo, cable and brackets. I had to copy the alloy headlamp brackets from my other 390. They came out well. I have changed the headlamp glass for a current Auteroche unit. This had a reflector with a more modern bulb holder.
Not sure about the rubber cotton reels mounting the headlight to the brackets though. With the engine running it will shake around too much and wind up those in front of me ! I think a couple of plastic spacers will be better.

Do you have details on where to buy this headlight from? Thanks

Mine were both NOS units I have picked up over the years. They are getting like rocking horse poo now.
Be prepared to pay over the odds if you find one.
Maybe Visiteur1948 (Claude) can help. Or ebay is your friend :)

It was me that mentioned the tractor light. I only wanted it for the lens as one of mine got broken. The rest of the tractor light is no use really as it has one fixing point, the bowl is too deep to fit correctly. The bulb holder is too fat to fit inside the original Husky light bowl. That only leaves the lens.
I have seen TY175 headlamps fitted to the front of 75 and 76 Husky's when they were sold new in the UK. I think it was "Shutts" that supplied the TY lighting kit to make them road legal.

Yes, I think it does. I binned mine a long time ago otherwise I would take a picture for you.
The reflector with the bulb attachment will be too deep to fit in the existing 78/79 headlamp bowl. The connections on the bulb holder touch the metal bowl ..... not good !
