• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1979/80 CR390 Works Hybrid Project - Passion Inspiration Action

Remarkable work !
This is a good inspiration for my 420 AXC Evo : Fox Forx, alu swing arm...
I love your wheels in black, it is a good idea to treat them as a single part for a lazy man like me!

Thanks Henri!

I only wish I had more time for it right now.

I need one of those washers! Do you know where I can find one?

Nice write up on this project!

After the faulty trial fit up, I know now the thin washer is the one to use... note that it will fit perfectly into the rubber seal area around the bearing itself....:

Hey There, CAn you tell me the process of how you did your wheels? did you blast or strip them together or take all the spokes out and then re assemble. They look great and i want to do it to mine so i can powder coat. Mine are scratched and rusty...

Thanks Chris

Chris - I had these proffesionally dipped and then bead blasted complete less bearings.

If I was to do it over, and money was not an object.... I would do this: Buy new Black Ano 18" Takasago Wheels, and Black spokes/nipples from Buchanan and powdercaot the Hub and relace.

This bike is not together yet ... but my long and untested concern is that the black will come off and when you adjust the spokes it will ruin the finish. However, I am ok with a ratted look on the wheels....

I had the brake backer plates professionally powdercoated by a freind of mine in Red powdercoat...

Damn .. base ball season is over... maybe I need to dig this out again.

If you don't have one I would suggest looking up the PN# in the tech Reference section here and then try and order one from Halls in SpringField Illinois or machine one yourself. Unfortunately , looking athis with hindsight, I failed to document the actual physical dimensions of the washer here. IF I strip it off again, and I well may when I weld on my damper post mopunt..., I will notate those dimensions here for you.

Thanks for the kind words... this project has been sitting now for the better part of a year now... time to get it going again.

Good to see you're going to dig it back out.
Mine went for it's maiden run a fortnight back. I can't believe I lived without it for over 6 years.

Everyone - This bike/project is now for sale in the classifieds.

Not enough time to even ride my TC450 much less finish this project.

Thanks, T
