• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

5oo f, ever tried it on exhaust? I do like it. Think ill order me some up for my case.

For the exhaust, I am going to use Rustoleum 2000 degree primer and paint
I have used this on gas fireplaces that the paint peeled around the frame for the glass, I used the 1200-1500 degree and it also peeled the 2000 degree paint used with the primer stays on.

I am using the Ultra High Heat Semi-Gloss for the finish... I think the Semi-Gloss is closer to the factory finish than the flat.

Update... Shocks are en route to Drew... I discovered "something" floating around inside my pipe during the stripping process. I assume it is the dreaded inner liner or parts of it that have come loose. Waiting for my buddy to call me back... he is not only my welder but has a bore scope so we can look inside before cutting the pipe open to repair it.
Best case scenario is we can pull the loose parts out through the inlet... worst case we filet the pipe, retrieve the loose liner and weld it back up.

I wish mine would blow out! My 79 is so quiet I can't stand it, it almost sounds like a 4 stroke at times . It just don't have that high pitch ting ting sound its more of a low muffled good neighbor sound.

Well... my curiosity got the best of me today and I decided to forgo the borescope inspection and did exploratory surgery.
Fileted the pipe in the least conspicuous place (best I could figure) and started extracting the loose inner liner pieces. I still have one piece that is hanging on by a thread that needs to be removed but the loose pieces are out.

The two large pieces were just floating around in the pipe... The two smaller ones I broke off as they were just hanging in there. One more piece and it's ready to weld back up.
