• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1980 WR 390 Rescue...

not going with the wr rear guard?

Mud Guard? or as we call them in the States Fender...

No, I like the CR fender better and I am fabbing a small aluminum rack for the tail which will bolt to the existing threaded bosses in the rear hoop. The rack will have a tool bag mounted to it and a small LED light incorporated.

Coming along awesome, N we going to enjoy close to 60F on Sunday.. Spring not far behind I hope:banana:

Oh Yeah!
My wife and I are going out on the BMWs Sunday... Backroad Pinelands Tour. I did a solo run the last warm day we had... 210 miles.

Oh boy! All my snows gonna melt and then freeze again! We have a month or two left here. The ice and snow stays longer in the woods, then it's mud season :banghead:

We owned a camp in Constableville (Tug Hill) for 20 years. I know all about it!
Sold it last April... Normally I would be on the hill right now sledding. I would take the month off and just ride...
Our cabin was on a curve under heavy tree cover usually the last place with snow on The Hill.

very nice....mobil (my old brother in law) is moving to new Hampshire...might get over to a white xmas

That's cool- I got tired of bringing the sleds to Tug hill to ride. My back gets sore after all the whoops that occur after everyone rides the same trails. We used to have enough snow locally but it's been snow, thaw, snow, thaw, ice ,ice baby!

We would usually only ride The Hill during the week when no one was around. On weekends we headed off the hill to the surrounding areas for the day. Let the tourists battle for the bumps!

True! My time available was the weekends. Now my friends have left when i have the time. Oh well bike riding soon!

There's a few of them spread out so you snowmobile to each one, have a few beers and on to the next one over 100 miles or so/day. I've never ridden a bike up there. Thanks for the info SnoRider . Do the cops check paperwork much?

If you are there for an organized event like the "Snirt Run" where a few thousand ATVs show up yes...
Some of the seasonals are DEC truck trails and off limits to ATVs but registered, insured and licensed MC operators are allowed.

During that ride which was the 2012 Snirt Run we went around barricades onto a DEC Truck Trail. All of the ATV riders were yelling at us that the road was off limits...
We went around the first bend where we came upon Jefferson County Sheriffs blocking the trail (dirt road). They get out of their vehicles and ask us how out bikes are registered. I reply that we are all registered as street legal motorcycles in New Jersey and all have New Jersey Motorcycle Licenses. They clear our way and tell us to enjoy the ride since we (as legal MC riders) have the trail to ourselves.

I have street plates I can put on my dirt bikes but ...I wouldn't ride during an event. I can always use my old Triumph if I need to be legal.
Great to know- thanks SnoDirt!

I've got street plates and insurance for both of my 400's but none of the turn signals, etc. to make them street legal (I have a way with people, and pulled it out at the DMV). An equipment ticket is cheap, and there's not a lot of enforcement out on the mountain roads. Events are another thing though, and I'm right there with you, playing it safe is a good idea when there is a draw for the Po-Po's.

Worked today taking care of a couple annual service/PM calls for some stragglers. Go figure... it's close to 70F out and some people just need to be sure their gas fireplace is working... More $$$ for me!
Anyway... putzed around after dinner tonight mainly getting the BMWs checked over for a nice ride tomorrow but did a few simple things on the Husky...

Gotta be in compliance!

I think this is the most bad ass headlight that was ever used on a dirt bike!
