• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1981 430 CR Restoration Mod. Project Bike

They look good !

HighDez.. did you get my post about the photobucket acct... check your pm?

Putting a compressed zip folder in here is overkill. Let me know if you still need help or if you got the pm linking to the photobucket imaging instructions.

The kickstarter was what started the whole nickel plate thing.

Very nice! Who/whom is your painter?

Can you post information on the black paint ( specifics ) that I can add to the Tech Ref Forum. Please post up details.

Are these BRP Mounts with the bolt heads machined for weight savings? Drilled washers?

Titanium Bolts?

T

Yes, BRP perches.
I drilled a hole at the same offset just under the minor dia. of the 12mm thd. for lightening purposes.
Washers and screws are titanium from Racebolts.com and they are drilled and machined for maximum lightness.
I will check the weight the stock perches and hardware just to see what kind of weight saving i got.

Thanks Pick,
Just recieved my new ignition yesterday so i pulled the stk. Motoplat.

Having trouble removing the crank seal retaining plate though,Any suggestions?

Got it sprayed down with penetrating oil and was tapping on it with a 1/2" alum. rod with no movement.

J.D. Jetting 38 mm Keihin PWK air striker carb upgrade

Inlet spigot is 3mm larger than than stock 38mm VM Mikuni but fits nicely, just make sure the rubber is fresh and warm.

overall lenght of the PWK Keihin carb is about 6.5mm shorter than the Mikuni so iam fabricating a 1/4" phenolic spacer to put it in perfect position for full air filter boot engagement.

Added benefit to the phenolic spacer is thermal insulation for the reed block and carb and a longer intake producing a little more torque.

Contact J.D. jetting at:
jdjetting.com

complete carb with J.D. jetting kit is only $239!

Bangin deal

Contact John Kovalick,

6526 west yellow blvd.

I have no idea what he shot it with but it looks nice!

Does he do the required metal straightening to the tank? Or did you have to have it straightened somewhere else first?
