• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

packages from andy are the best! the cast magneto covers are excellent.

doesnt look right

did you pick up a liquid cooled clutch arm? nice easy upgrade for the straight arm. i have some extra if you cant find one.

Your using all the chain guides and tensioner. That's a good thing. Without the chain tensioner when the chain whips off the sprocket she can crack the case where the clutch lever vertical shaft is. I seen it happen. Most of the used bikes I seen were missing these chain parts. Don't forget the up stop roller in the frame too. It's a 3/8" piece of nylon on a 6mm bolt. I've seen these replaced with a wheel.(roller). That tube welded on the frame is where it goes.

the husaberg you keep ripping on was sabotaged by the dealer according to you. you really never said there was anything actually wrong with the bike.

I never got to ride the berg in the trails before the case cracked. It did feel good around the yard when I rode it. Different response power wise. They called it a 3 stroke. That little button we push to start it was awesome. Now decades later the e start is catching on in the 2T. The berg was a good bike till the dealer sabataged it.

What do you mean by "Don't forget the up stop roller in the frame too. It's a 3/8" piece of nylon on a 6mm bolt. I've seen these replaced with a wheel.(roller). That tube welded on the frame is where it goes." What is the up stop roller?

I call it a up stop roller because it eliminates / stops the chain from up traveling or slapping when we down shift. That little welded piece of tubing on the frame is often overlooked and vacant from having anything in it. With some pics if we look closely the 6mm bolt and the piece of nylon is there or it's a chain roller. In Other pics it's missing.

up stop? never ever seen this on a milk truck bill..we went thru this in a previous thread. only the single shockers have it. it isn't in the parts manual

It's on every milk truck bike. It's missing on most of the bikes. It's a bearingless piece of nylon held on by a bolt. We talked about this before in a thread I got the pic from.

the chain tensioner was missing as well as the top roller. I figured I'd get all new anyway and not mess around. I don't have the countershaft sprocket cover either.

The chain cover protects the chain if it should come whipping off and cracking the case too. We must have all the chain guides and tensioner in place. Always make sure the chain is tensioned properly. The tentioner is very important on every bike.

the countershaft cover is a waste of time, and just packs with mud and stones. most guys who ride these bikes leave them off as we wear motorcycle boots riding them.

the reason they are always missing, is husky themselves put them on so few bikes.
