• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

1984 400WR followed me home

Finally got to doing some more on the bike, put on the headlight i restored, refinished the front fender, replaced seat with one with nice seat cover & replaced missing chain guard, a little more cleaning & it's almost looks as well as it runs.

rip the barrel off and give the transfer ports a good tidy up with a port tool, they are a bit daggy and rough. it will smoke the tyre something chronic after that.

Did some more detailing , created home made side numberplate decals (yellow), using what was left of the originals as pattern, stripped off the flaking paint off the fork legs for now. Not sure if i want to repaint the slightly yellowed tank or not? Winter showed up this past
week  , so i doubt i'll be painting anything til it gets warmer, but i'm please with how it's coming along.

Because I can't get my work area warm enough to even spray primer, I got a 1986 250XC frame to jump start the assembly of my 86 400WR off ebay for $112 shipped. Got unemployed again yesterday so I have been mandated to get some bikes finished to sell in the spring. So far it looks like the 85 400WRX, 86 400WR, and 86 KX250 will be up for adoption in a couple months. The frame for the 84 250WR is almost ready to paint, but temperature is against it so far
