• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

the sleeve is the original cast iron, a company in holland is specialised in nicasil, the do it up to 0.5mm wall thikness: www.powerseal.nl it is not so cheap, but if your cilinder is at the end of his liftime it is a good option, and stands long.

Cheers

I have a 93mm wiseco in mine so its game over for the liner after this piston. the nikasil is a good option.

what have you done with your suspension and brakes?

i had been lucky to found a works ohlins frontfork at an auction, for the rear shocks i have ordered a custom made pair assembled whit white power parts, cost much but result is great. Original rear break is satisfied but front brake i still have not found a good set up the get it braking well, i have trying several type op brake liner materials, have the drum surface turned, as well as the liners, had made a longer lever at the brake drum, but stil not good braking, any sujestion is welcome.
cheers

I have "soft" linings made to suit the wheel. they are ok, but need attention, as they glaze up , so I sand them (40 grit) and the steel liner with - 320 grit , then they have improved a lot. and a friend helped me to set up the shoes with wheel off the bike, so as to easily adjust the rod for the second cam. I think it needs to be done every 3 or 4 rides. Not as good as a yamaha, but maybe 80% !

The sleeve from my 510 is the original cast iron and nicasil stick to it, a company in holland is specialised in this matter : www.powerseal.nl for my 570 cilinder i had made several mod's and fitted a new big bore liner that i hav made from a cast iron liner that i took from an industrial diesel engine. I now guys who took the original aluminium liner from a 610 engine, but as the watercooled engines using head gaskets and the aircooled engines are sealed by the liner i choosed for a cast iron type to get the same sealing as the 510 version, sa for it works very well. First I had a 5 speed gearbox on the 570 engine ( same as a used on the 510) but that was hard to keep the front wheel down so I changed to a 4 speed gearbox.
