• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How has the Krylon Fusion paint held up?

I used the Krylon Fusion paint on a few bikes, lastly my 85/86 510 project (it's in the archive)

The stuff works, but leave the tank slightly @ a rough finish (don't clean it so much or sand it so much it's too smooth), the paint needs something
to bite into. Also get use to drain the tank a lot, cause when I did it, it really lasted well, but when I got lazy in 6 months, I noticed it bubble in one
spot.

Also I used Meguiars natural shine on it all the time, puts a shine on it & a little bit of barrier against your legs always rubbing against it. I wax my
82 430 metal tank after almost every ride & that's why it looks so awesome...

Unfortunately, I sold the 1984 WR 400 and 1985 WRX 400 and all of my extra 400 parts (ALOT!!) to Bob Bean, I believe in late 2011.

If you sold it to Bob then I think this is your bike he is on at the 2010 ISDT Reunion Ride, I'm on my '77 Penton 400. We were in the same grass track moto, I fall asleep on the start, then get pinched off and end up almost last into the first turn. I spend the next 4-5 laps catching Bob who promptly falls as soon as I get to his rear fender. Jack Penton won the moto, but he was not that far ahead of Bob, I'm still kicking myself 6 years later because I think I could have won that moto with a slightly better start. I catch Bob right at 10:00 if you want to fast forward.

Good riding/racing Brian! Yeah, I guess I sold it to him in the summer of 2010 then. Ha!!

Joe, I'm "supposed" to run the Army 10 miler on Oct 9th. Like I said, supposed to...training for it has not gone the way I've wanted to -- of course! We'll see.
