As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Next issue for the motor is this intake. I cant find anything that even looks like this as replacement. If this the right intake for the 400? I see a billet manifold online as aftermarket for 80 bucks or so, it says rubber piece can be bought from a bike shop? Really? Looks like this one does not fit the milled portion of the engine properly?
That pipe is totally botched!
this pipe is from a 430AE Auto. longer headpipe = more low end .

Nut only locks the adjusting screw .
Here is the clutch rod adjuster nut, and bearing assembly. I have loosened the nut to show the shoulder area. How can the nut have any impact when the shoulder prevents contact with washer?
I noticed some wear and peaning of the pushrod on the inboard end.
I noticed some slop where the inner basket rides the circlip, maybe washer is worn allowing play? I dont want to re assemble without a solution.
As you can see the screw (allen head recess) and the nut, have bored a hole in the cover.
I can only hope someone else has noticed this and came up with the answer.
Thanks guys!
Speed,Yep thats the original, the billet 1 you saw is worth getting as I bought 1 & it worked great, trying to find the original type is near impossible.
It came as one unit, I'm not sure who I got it off but it was in the USA.Speed,
Where did you get rubber piece that mounts on billet section. I did not see listed on website.
Andy at HVA in the UK has had some made not sure how much though.Yep thats the original, the billet 1 you saw is worth getting as I bought 1 & it worked great, trying to find the original type is near impossible.
You can get that through Sudco but likely have to order through a dealerSpeed,

So, a husky dealer for the rubber piece. The billet section is aftermarket? What do I say the rubber piece is for? Is it a stock piece for another year? I guess I'm confused that the original is one piece, the two sections here are a mix of aftermarket, and something stock? I did see the rubber section alone on a website, but there were a dozen different sizes and bolt patterns? Thanks guy, just want to get the right thing. You can get that through Sudco but likely have to order through a dealer
