• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

#2 1977 Husqvarna 360 Auto

DeathFromAbove

My Cat Says AREAR!
So I sold my other 360 Auto a few Years ago and have been thinking and wanting another. A lot of guys live/love them and I am still on the fence as I had some real problems with the last one. Mostly the engagement parts but also bad Sprague and worn Sprague engagement surfaces.
So here I saw this one on CL and called. I made the stop to look at it on the way back from work out of town. Made a deal and went to pick it up this morning. It looks real complete and the bolts I cursory checked were BUFO. Looks like original Barnum Tires and Akront Green Label rims. Fenders aren't mashed or broken. Has the Late Straight Leg forks too!! Missing the original bars, carb/throttle, levers/cables and Number Plates. I was told RWPA**************************************** Ran when put away!! Pushed the kick lever and was happy to find compression. Opened the fill cap and it all looks wet and oily!! Tomorrow I'll pull the air box cover and squirt some either and see if she fires!! Here's some pics!!

I would like to ride one so I could say I did but no shifting, no clutch, no engine braking, not sure I'd care to have one as a rider.

I'll find a set of nice shocks to replace them then. And It is weird to ride one, I guess if you ride one a lot that will become MINUSCUAL MEMORY!! Because I CRS!!

I have one of the same year, and I love it. Always in the correct gear, just gas and brake, pretty cool I think. I often think I would like to get one of the later ones (85-86).

Cool, it runs. Can you say compression release? hehe Let me know next time you start it and I'll loan you my 36 inch legs. I may have a lot of knots on my head from being tall but it sure helps when kick starting bikes.

It is tall, makes me remember why I like the early bikes!

I notice it has the latest non-leading axle black forks, I can see the 4 ribs in one of the pics. The 8 inches of travel is 33% more than the earlier 6 inch gray forks making a noticeable difference in height.

With a rebuilt set of vintage Works or Fox shocks this chassis/suspension will handle like a dream over an MK frame. This bike would be fun to do some vintage old guy events.
