  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I noticed an oil leak coming from the Idler Transponder Assembly. I replaced the O-ring and the sucker still leaks! I guess I could try to use a heat resistent silicone but I know it will turn to mush after time. I wonder if I could use a bigger O-ring though I don't think it will fit. Anyone have any solutions? Going to Terlingua in March and I hope to get this resolved ASAP. Any input would be appreciated.

Some electrical device that is towards the bottom of the engine on the left side of the bike. I am not sure what it's function is. Hence Idle so it might have to do with something on the choke? I am not so sure. I just know that it leaks like a siv.

You called it as written in the manuel. Here we call it the Neutral indicater switch. When in N turns the N light on the dash. Doesn't have anything to do with choke.
Check if is cracked try get it clean and dry then use some Hi Temp silicone should stop the leak. Make sure the spring goes in first then the brass plunger with the bullet end facing out. Later George

Thanks george! I was able to get a new o-ring and behold! The other o-ring I used was a bit fatter and seals nicely. No more leaks!! My dad had the bike before me and he never had time to replace the o-ring. He did use the hi temp silicon but over time it got funky. I noticed the original o-ring was skinny compared to the new one. Thanks for your input i do appreciate it.
