  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2005 TC450 Engine Vibrations any ideas?

JimboMatrix

Husqvarna
Hi I own a 2005 TC450 and the engine vibrations are terribly painful. I feel most of the vibes through the handlebars and at low to mid rev range is really bad it will then smooth out in the high revs. Its also really buzzy through the footpegs and seat.

I've filled the handlebars with silicone and tightened all the engine bolts I could find. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as I love the bike but I am considering changing to the TE450 is this much better?

I'm running 15-50 as the gearing.

I have the same issue on my 05 TC450. I feel the buzzing mostly through my feet from the foot pegs.

Those were viby bikes for sure. I believe you can fit the couterbalancer from a SM or TE in it and eliminate a lot of it but i believe you have to split the case to do so.

This should be your answer. You'll need the balancer and the two gears, and the bearings for the balancer. And the correct spacers/shims on the crank.

Ate you handy with engine work? If you're not pm me, and I'll help ya out

I have a 2010 TE 450. The vibrations used to be painful. I solved my vibration problem with a set of Fasst Flexx handlebars. The bar ends are mounted on pivots and absolutely solve the vibration problem. The bars are great at absorbing large bumps and hits on the trail. They work great all around love em!

Motosports sell em cheaper, no tax and free shipping. Call Fasst Flexx first and they will help you determine they correct size then order from Motosports. Just a suggestion.

You may also want to loosen all of the engine bolts and see what kind of tolerance or gap you have between frame and engine without hardware tight. If you can see a visible gap, it could use shimming. Even a .003 shim can sometimes remove a resonating vibe from a sprung frame. This is still applicable to the newer 449 frames as well.
