• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2006 TE 610 Fuel Range??

MotoSteve

Husqvarna
B Class
I picked up a 2006 TE610 with the stock tank, Leovince pipe and jet kit. What are people getting in terms of total fuel range and MPG on this bike?
Thanks.:D

40mpg mixed trail/street. 190-200 miles on 5 gallon IMS tank going dry. 14T sprocket, LV, jetted, sea level.

When I first got mine the dealer had alredy done a pretty good job of optimizing the jetting and I was getting around 45mpg doing "spirited" riding both on and off road. Then I put the JD jet kit in and the mpg dropped to around 35 with no real discernable increase in performance. After I played with the jetting and got it really dialed in I get about 42mpg and it runs like a champ.

Earlier I posted closer to 40-42 in mixed use. Today I just finished a pure highway miles tank commuting to work and got 46.7mpg. Hit low fuel light at 150 miles. Run dry, I would be good for about 230 miles on the 5 gallon IMS tank.

This is an '07 JD jet, LV, 14T, D908s, Lynx fairing, 5 gall IMS, Dirt bagz mostly empty, damp Seattle weather in the 45-50 degree F range, damp, mostly 50-65mph, 42 miles round trip each day. New speedo is calibrated against the GPS. Regular grade, fill to the same exact point and lean angle. :-)
