• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2009 TC Ti (titanium) parts

No problem, I'm my own guinea pig anyway. You, me, 144, we're all head in the same direction. I'm just a few steps ahead of you and sharing as I go.

We have been on common ground a time or two at Casey, IL., but never met. My guess we'll probable make a point of it some time.

You bet we will! I plan to get over to Motoland (have never been there yet) sometime early this spring just to help with getting into shape (suppose to be a ROUGH and LONG track, pretty much all sand). We will certainly have to get in touch though!

If either of you feller's come far east to, say Binghamton NY, Buds Creek MD or even Unadilla NY, let it be known here. I'd like to see you guys in action!

Good luck this season.
Dave

Got the spring today and it fits just fine. Here are some pix of it and the Honda axle and blocks.

The Axle adjuster bolts and nuts are Ti also.

Motorhead,
Just curious about the spring, does it "fit just fine" meaning it will work or does it actually fit snug just like s Sachs spring would? I just don't want to spend the money and this not end up working. Thanks again and man that sounds like fast shipping if you just ordered this week! See ya.

As long as it goes over the shock body you will be good as from there anyone with a lathe can whip you up a collar if it is loose. Real simple.

It fits perfect! It fits the SACHS shock better than a KYB shock actually. Why? Because the SACHS is made for a straight rate spring, which is the same I.D. on both ends. A KYB, or SHOWA for that matter. are actually set up for a progressive spring which is smaller at the clevis end.

The Ti spring came with a collar for use on the KYB, because it's the same I.D. on both ends ( straight rate ), but it wasn't needed with the SACHS shock.

Trust me young Jetti, I will not lead you astray.

BTW- This is a VERY nice shock. It's pretty much a "production" version of a "WORKS" KYB or OHLINS, for lack of a better comparison.

Good thread. Sort of morphing though.

Would you like me to split this thread up?

Or change the title?

Someone in the future will benefit from your hard work in the future - if they can find it.

Yeah, I know, I was thinking the same thing. Sorry.

This stuff is getting spread around about three different threads. What would you like to see done with it ?

Yeah, I don't care Coffee. Split it up as you may and what would work best for you. Thanks again for giving us a place to correspond. See ya.

Blake

Can you make it...

A TI section for Husky's? This is a very interesting thread. At some point I want to make a "factory" 125 as light as it can be... Great start though!

I just want to be clear - my only concern is people being able to find your good info, that's it. I'm just trying figure out what this excellent info should be called or split or whatever.

ding ding ding - GREAT idea********************************************************************************

Changing title, if you want a slightly different title just say so, or even better - Blake can change the title.... I think for 6 months? Something like that - just double click to the right of the thread title when viewing the list of threads.
Need EXACT FR/RR Axle Measurements - TC -->> 2009 TC Ti (titanium) parts

Coffee.

So will this be in the technical forum? I fully intend on measuring different pieces of my 125 and posting them here. I am still concerned of what parts fit the 2T and 4T and the different years ect.... I guess we can figure that out later?

Or should I put the measurements in the 2T forum?

I think both 4st & 2st care about Ti.

May I move this to the common topics forum? Sort of a catch all Ti thread?

I am certainly open to ideas.

I get lost or confused...

When referring to bikes I go to the certain threads. 2T or 4T I get lost when it comes to the EFI/Carb section. Shouldn't that be in 4T? The question at hand is titanium parts... where should it go when you are talking about several different models? And then there is the guinea pig section where motorhead, mxer74, and myself roam and I am extremely interested in. Any ideas?

Good idea

But building the perfect beast could mean different things to different people. Our goal is building a lightweight Husky, by means of Titanium or other special handmade modifications.

How about a thread in the common tech section like, "Building the perfect Beast" ?

Don't you think you have the axle blocks on backwards? Shouldn't the axle adjustment bolts be positioned on the opposite end of the blocks pictured? Or was there a chain tension issue????
