  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2010 te250 rear sproket size

just wondering what size rear sprocket fore a te 250 2010 std size are 13/40 so what would be good for using in the woods/single trail snd technical stuf...... should i go up 3 teeth on the rear

ps this bike will never be used on the road so top end is not a problem

A 50 comes in the powe-up kit which the dealer should install.

the 50tooth is still way too tall.

The stock power-up chain should be able to handle a 52 rear.

That is what I'm going to put on mine.

I have a 52 on mine and its still not enough with the extra tall first gear they put on the new bikes, once your in second and moving its great, but if you need to ride slow and technical like we race around my area, you will be beating on the clutch everywhere and I do not like to ride like this, but im not going any bigger on the rear for fear of banging rocks,I bet you could go 12-52 and make the bike much better for tight stuff and still maybe pull 45mph or so cruising down the road

I tried a 13/52 and went back to stock gearing. I was actually thinking of a 49 or a 51 on the rear but I am not in the bone yards that you are in Fury. My issue with 13/52 was it made second feel too revvy and third too low in the power delivery. Who makes the 51 tooth rear sprocket? Maybe and extra 50cc would solve it all.....

I use an Ironman 51 (Dirt Tricks) and it works well in the Jersey Pines and the Pa rocks. I do use an autoclutch, though. It helps at slow speed.

A 12 on the front transformed my TXC into a perfect bike. Lugs like a tractor. No hyper clutching required for tight trails or taking off from standstill.

You still using the 50 in back?

what brand/model sprocket did you get and are you happy with it so far? (with the brand/model)

Thanks!
It's the stock Husky rear. The front 12 came from Motosportz.

Thanks Krieg. I just ordered the 12 tooth from Motosportz yesterday.
I'm very pleased with the results of the 12 in front. I think you will be too. The added benefits of going with the front is no new chain and a lot less money. If you find you don't like it, you can always go with a 52 on the rear and a new chain later.

ha guy's just want to sort the gearing on the 250............my te 450 has 13/51 and will ride up the side of a cliff and is great in s/t and lugs like a tractor.....................so im trying to get my 010 te 250 to be the same ............if i go a 12 on the front i will lose the drive out of the rear by moving the wheel back further and will there be enough clearance between the tyre and the shock flap if i run a 52...........i only ride s/t and flowing s/t

so what is the best combo not after top speed and use the same chain

1........13/50 is stock

2........13/51

3........13/52

4........12/50

5........12/51

thanks H.B

im using a 12/50 gearing now and just wondering if any one used a 12/51 gearing setup and what is it like........ie top speed.....down low gearing for tight s/t and hills...fast s/t....fuel economy....wear in rear chain guide

i know a lot of you are using a 12/50 and are happy and i am as well :).... but i just think it may need another tooth ?????????or do i have to get use to the gearing i have:confused:

thanks for your input H.B
