  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 Race Bike

All most ready

More pics soon...
A little background, I have had the bike since it was new, did a few
Track Days and a race or two on it when I first got it. It has all the
sliders and catch can (SME), drilled for safety wire etc. For the past
two years I have been racing my little 150R in the adult mini class to
keep it on the cheep. RED STICKER requirements suck here, so the
plan was to sell the little bike and the 510 and buy the new 2011
TE 250 (plated) and some SM wheels/Brake. Well I listed both bikes and
had 0 hits on the 510 for what I was asking. I am so happy with the
new bike the way it is and will not give my 510 away.

So yesterday I stripped all the lights, horn and dash off the 510. Then
installed the TC rear fender and number plate I already had, recycled
my numbers off the little bike. Looks good so far:) the kick-stand will
be removed and I have a new 1 race front tire. Thinking about some
Marchies that will fit both bikes before I swap out the tires.

I feel very lucky to own two Huskys that are paid for and rip.:notworthy:

Ya more pics :D

Looks like ya need to take off the kickstand still!

Hey J.R.
The season don't start till March or April and all of our track days
have been rained out lately. I am having to much fun ridding in
the woods on the 250, so I will keep it in enduro/Duel-sport form
for now.

510's rule.

nice pic of Mav's.

Ha Ha I took that pic from a Hobie 18. We had just enough wind
to make it out and back in. We are in the waiting period now, hope
for some BIG MAVs this year.

Was anything special required for putting the TC front number plate on the TE?

Yes, you have to remove the Dash. If you go to the Husky parts manual it will show the pt#.
My dealer was able to get the upper bracket right away and has the lower bracket on back order, the last pic is from my 250 same part# ???IMGP0017.JPG IMGP0015.JPG IMGP0016.JPG IMGP0018.JPG I may cancel, zip-ties work fine.

Track day tomorrow. weather window looks good.
I am playing around with the gearing, stock 14/42, still a little fast for the Kart track.
Wanted to bump the rear up 2, 14/44, dealer said it would take a while to get the 44
so I went with a 13 front, 13/42 , rips should be big fun on small sprockets tomorrow.
