I got a 2011 TE310 for Christmas! Probably first one in San Diego County. My son has a 10 TE250 and I used to "borrow" it all the time when he's in school and I get a chance to do a mid-week ride. I loved his bike and the 310 is just THAT much more! Front wheel will loft with less effort. The close ratio transmission I hated on my ol' 07 510 is better suited to the new 310 though it could still pull wider gears.
Get rid of the useless stock skid plate (yes they only cost $12.00 but that's all they're worth) and put a Hyde Racing skid plate on it. OFG radiator braces and I went up one spring rate on the rear (I'm 175 lbs).
Sorry I can't compare it to a KTM but you don't need to ride one to observe the advantage of the Husky...It's NOT orange!
