  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE 449 & 511 oil filter cap

TE in RC

Husqvarna
AA Class
What is the deal with the oil filter cap? A 22mm seems loose while 21mm is too small. Is there a special wrench for this? I have only been snugging it up because of the o-ring. The last oil change was tuff as some of the corners rounded a bit.

The factory oil filter cap can be an issue. I rounded off a couple corners on my first oil change. Same issue as you. The 22mm was too big, but a 21mm was too small. I rounded it off completely on my third oil change and had to pound a 21mm socket onto it to get it off. I bought the red billet cap too and it is much better.

who carries it and what tool is needed to remove it? is there a torque recommendation, I have not looked yet.

Does the anodized filter cap have a small dimple on the inside like the stock one does?

I have the CNC hard parts one, it is nice, think it is 12mm works great. Will take back side pix next oil change.

actually, it is removed with a 12 mm .it comes with the oring .the inner surface is smooth ,no dimple.dan

Oh, good I thought my tools were outta whack, or if I should switch from the metric to the standard drawer. So far so good, but then again I just did the second oil change...

Apparently I spoke too soon.
Had to struggle to change the filter on my 511 Saturday because the 21.5mm nut is rounding off

I agree, you'll like the powercore 4 from FMF. its considerably louder though. It sounds like a real dirt bike!
