  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 TE 449 & 511 oil filter cap

Husky hard part.

By bike came with a USB jump drive with the manual on it, also on the jump drive is a catalog of special parts sold by Husky. For some reason some people call these parts "hard parts"

Technically it was "Special Parts", hard parts is a KTM designation. Now it's "Husky Power", go figure.

I have rounded the corners of the two oil screen caps (forward of the oil drain plug) on my TE 511. They seemed to be very soft. Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket caps available?

Also does anyone know if the diameter of the threaded part of the caps (where it screws into the engine block) changed in 2011 when Husky changed over from the 510 to the 511?

510 to 511 are completely different engines, so any crossover fitment is just luck.

7602 makes a nice replacement set for the drains.....

Also,

The odd sized and soft oil filter CAP is a longstanding deficiency which is likely to bite you soon enough. Zip Ty or a Husky dealer should be able to get you the special part to replace it..or Zip Ty makes a nice magnetic unit.

I have the Husky Hard parts oil filter cap sitting on the shelf plus the stock one is in good shape. Anyone who needs one lemme know. Now that I have the Zip Ty credit card killer magnet cap, the others are just sittin around.

Will the Husky hard parts fit a 2013 511?
