  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2011 te449 needs supermoto wheels...

I was talking to one of the best SM racers over here in Aus and he doesn't rate the Marchi's like you mentioned R.Stephen they were torque twisting and cracking. He was only using them because he had em coming out of his ears.

I am currently waiting on a set of Alpina Carbon Matrix hoops and their spokeless system :), retiring the Excel/Talons for wets.

Marchi's look sooo keen though!

Alpina's have their issues too. The paint will chip off after a few rides and tire changes. I can't stand that. If you pay that kind of money for wheels they better hold up. The solid carbon ones do much better. Also the o-rings can leak on them too. I've seen it happen quite often and seen quite a few broken spokes as well. If you want to make your warp 9 set tubeless use the Outex kit form Japan. Works wonders. I ran that in all my stunt bikes never an issue.

In the end wheels a big personal preference and budget item.

I'm desperate for a set of supermoto wheels for my 2011 TE449,
preferably second hand

Where do you live husq449, i have a full kit (fits 09 TE 450), Motard wheels (all come with discs mounted, sprocket mounted and speedo magnet mounted), Motard Guards (front and rear), All sliders (front, back and muffler), extra large front disc, stand off bracket, 3 rear sprockets, 3 chains.

I would like to use them first, but maybe we could work something out if i don't like the experience.

Much shipping would be?

Going to buy some supermoto wheels tomorrow from a chap in Central London. They are currently on a 2006 te510, these wil
Fit... Right?

Would 2mm washers between the hub and sprocket work? Or are the sprockets hub enteric and sit on the hub?

I am no expert but have spent the last week trying to get me new Talon/excel wheels to fit my 2010 TE450 which I thought would bolt straight on.
Bought new from local Husky dealer and didn't bolt straight on, the came direct from Talon. They didn't have any info on the 2010 TE450 and thought it would be the same as the previous years TE450's. Hate to say it but I can't understand how people posting on this topic just say yes they will bolt straight on, mine haven't and I have been dealing with the manufacturer. Mine I sorted out with getting various spacers from Talon and now for phase 3 of my fitment is to sort the outer rim off set-out by 1.5mm. I can't thank Talon enough as they have been really helpful to sort thing out for me.
Might be worth giving them a call so they can point you in the right direction for your wheel fitment.
