Wasn't a bash fellas
I certainly did not take it that way.
I worked in high tech for many years. Intel, Nike and some other places. Doing CAD design and stuff. Before that I painted cars. Then I went to work for Fastway / mountain speed and started designing downhill MTB chain guides and motorcycle parts for our new upstart Fastway product line. Got to meet cool people like Shane Watts, Randy hawkins, Ty Davis etc and learn a ton of the biz as the owners right hand guy. We flew all over to events and WORCS races and stuff. Was a dream job for me. Rode a ton then too. He sold off the company and moved on to another phase in his life and I started a dirtbike company I worked at for several years. The owner of the fabrication plant I worked within die unexpectedly and lots changes. I forged out on my own to do Motosportz with the goal of making smaller batches of a damper product i have been designing for a few years. The idea was to have a few very good products that paid the bills but was a quality of life direction too. I wanted to be home a lot for my daughter which has been wonderful. Honestly I owe most this wonderful life to my excellent wife who has a great job at IBM and has nice insurance making this all possible for me to toil around with this stuff. I could be making a lot more money doing several other things. But i would be frustrated, on a leash, not with my daughter (with which I am super close with), and not riding dirtbikes on weekdays to test stuff. BTW I work 10-12 hours a day. I log in, get rolling about 7 and work til 5-7 every day I am home. All work I enjoy and only have me to answer to. It works well for me and my family. My wife is amazing and the answer to "can I go riding" is always yes. Conversely i spend all my non DB hours with them doing lots of fun things. We have found a very good ballance.
