• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 Dakar Rally

Joan Barreda Stage 10 1s place improves to 20th overall. This stage win moved him up 15 places in one day. A few more days like this and a top 10 will easily be within reach!

Top Husky Alessandro Botturi 5th overall

That's an amazing recovery, let's just hope it's not to late!

PS. Sorry for the formatting but this site doesn't recognise tabs or tables...grrr

This pic got posted on another website about some rider in the 8th, 9th, or 10th position ... Looks good for Husky also ...

Pity Barreda had that fuel pump issue or he'd be leading but a mile...still time but he is a bloody quick Dakar rider!!

A few of the husky's have had these fuel pump issues but Barreda's was the only one that failed in Stage 5 and lost 3hours plus 1 x 15min penalty for engine swap. Matt Fish was going well but as he's the waterboy, it was his fuel pump that got Barreda going again in Stage - end of his Dakar.
Botturi has been the most consistent but the TE449's have and reliability issues, great speed but with issues.

LoL..Faria is running 2nd behind his team mate Despres who happens to be the waterboy for Despres also:eek:

Just bad luck if you ask me
if you see how the husky's are competing in the last few stages its impressive

last 3 days constantly 3 husky's in the top seven, means to me that they are fast and reliable, still need to have some luck on your side in racing.

Robert-Jan

Hey guys, I know this forum is all about Husky, but I just wanted to share with everyone this KTM 450 RR image that I was going to use for an online forum contest about different bike livery from local sponsors. All of the sponsors here are from Venezuela, where I live, and this would be the big sponsors here. I used Photoshop to put the logos on an image with white spaces for location. Enjoy! fact is if it was straight up haul butt racing Kurt would smoke 99% of those rally guys, its the added stuff that goes along with the rally racing effort that slows down his pace- road book, gps, route timing, manipulating all the gear while doing 100mph etc. He must be really getting the hang of the process, good stuff!!

Then as soon as he gets back it is round 1 of the Nationals next weeken followed by King of the Motos the next weeken followed by Round 2 of the Nationals the following weeken Hope he gets some sleep on the plane home

John Im not too big on observing/watching any sport especially motos but I may come up for this king of motos thing. that will be entertaining for sure.

Robert watch some of the many videos and you will be hooked I want a race where I have to think will I finish instead of how far can I jump I went last year and watched so this year back in sept I sent my entry the day it opened They was about 20,000 people there watching looked like the big ones in Europe

Ben Grabham is improving - he is 4 times Finke desert race winner. and 3 times Australian Safari winner. Id say he is still not 100 % after his big accident last year
Any more news on him?

Yeah Rocky, he finished 12th in Stage 11 and running 17th overall (climbing from 19th the day before). Rod Faggotter still the best placed in 15th overall and the GHR boys of Warren Strange and Jacob Smith running 29th and 35th respectively with Simon Pavey at 63rd and Matt Fish 105th.

Yep, if Benny focusses of desert racing and is picked up by one of the major dakar team, he'll be a future contender!!

Obvious bias here fella's, but if you gave Marc Coma's bike and team to Grabham instead of Caselli, he'd be top 5 easily!!
