  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TE310 - How much oil does yours use

Chris,
Have you been able to find your problem yet? I have a 2103 TE310 too, also uses oil. Rode 45 miles last weekend, oil was in the middle of the window when I started and completely out of the window when I finished. I added a little less than a 1/4 quart but that still seems like a lot. I checked the oil return line at the drain plug and found no evidence of a leak. Actually, I can't find any evidence of oil outside the engine anywhere. The bike seems to run fine, I don't see it smoking or smell any burning oil. The bike only has 720 miles on it, I bought it with 290 miles on it and it was still like new. I've changed the oil twice now and cleaned the air filter twice, it was never very dirty. I'm curious to here about what you find on your bike.

LOL its interesting, my TE250 year 11, when I change the oil, and put new oil, I see the window and I let the amount of oil, to fill just to the middle of the window, a little more sometimes, in the upper mark from the middle one. After a ride, It fills completely the window markers to the full top.. its like mine "creates" more oil instead of burning it haha.
