  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2013 TXC/TE 310R

I already own a TXC310R and love it. I'm looking to possibly purchase another one, so I'm wondering what it takes to make a TE run the same as the TXC? I know they have to be more restricted than the TXC's and my TXC is uncorked with the end and screen out of the exhaust and the filter screen out. I'm worried about the O2 sensor and other things on the TE that would prevent me from making it run like my TXC. Any input would be appreciated.

And I would just buy another TXC but the dealership i deal with only has a TE in stock and said he is unable to get another TXC.

Thanks

If I recall, on the 13 models the ECU setup diverged a fair amount so the TEs meet 'Green Sticker" requirements and the TXCs are "Red"

I know my local dealer is familiar with how to set up a TE...but he also has a TXC or 2 on the floor last I looked. http://billshusky.com

I just did a TE310R because there were no TXCs left. If you would like a street legal bike it can be made to run like a TXC pretty easy. I know it has been discussed here before but here is what I did.

Modify the velocity stack in the air box boot.
Remove the backfire screen from air box.
Replace the stock air filter cage with a TXC/TC cage.
Remove the restrictor piece from the exhaust. The one right in the middle where the head pipe and muffler come together.
Remap it with the Husky HST tool and it will run great.

That is all you really need to do. I did a little more to mine.
Put on a Pro Circuit exhaust.
Put on a set of CV4 hoses.
Removed all signals and some other stuff I didn't need.
Installed the Leo Vince Race Map from HST.
Changed rear sprocket and chain.
It's fast.

Do the 2013 TE's come with a powerup/offroad kit like prior years have done? I know my 2010 TE 250 came with a kit that helped. And the dealership where I lived took out the o2 sensor and plugged it then removed airbox lid - put on filter - and took out catalyic converter, per my request. Just make sure they change the TPS accordingly and you should be pretty good to go, unless you are in california ... then well, you're on your own!

The 13s do not come with the extras.

Rmgsxr, when you got yours remapped at the husky dealer did that eliminate the O2 sensor completely?

There are two different maps that you can load. The Full Power map is for the stock exhaust and the Leo Vince map is for if you put a full race exhaust on it. Neither map recognizes the o2 sensor. It doesn't matter if you unplug/remove it or leave it connected. Both maps are meant for all of the air box mods to be done as well as open the exhaust.

I'm still a bit confused by this one. The stock tails I've been seeing in the 2013/2014 TE310Rs have a big tail for turn signals, plate attachment, etc:

The black attachment comes off and the stock taillight stays where it is. You don't need to add anything, just remove.

Basically you just built a CH Racing Husky E2 World Enduro spec machine!! Nice job.
