• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

2014 Husqvarna Journal

Yes, I got one in the mail also.

I have mixed feelings about it at the moment, hopefully those will pass with time. At the very least it would have been nice to see more "non-famous" people in the pictures with their names, think there were 2-3 pics with no names. The historic timeline was a nice touch.

I always thought that was a very cool touch to the BMW-era "Ridemore Journal". Whew! See, I CAN say something nice in a sentence including BMW!

It gave that journal a very grassroots-type feel that made you feel included, even if you never got featured.

Hmm, Glanced it over long enough to see they were no longer supporting the dual sport ie:610/650 slot.......... all on the relatively short walk to the recycling bin. meh.

Considering all the hoops the regulatory agencies have, that would be the last thing I would fault them with, for 2014. I am taking a wait and see attitude.

Yup, I'll wait and see........... :)

Just saying that I don't at this point have any interest in non DS bikes. I have a feeling that might change in a few years ( the kid is only 5 months now ) but for the next while the reality is no new bikes......

Yeah, the recently announced models were put together in less than a year, so it should come as no surprised they are essentially just a BNG release (Bold New Graphics! Oh and a suspension link!).

I hope that at least by 2016 MY that the Husky line up will have SOME key differentiations from the KTM model line. eg: different frame, lower seat heights :), etc… Otherwise, the only reason to buy a Husky is that orange isn't a very good looking color… LOL

16 is the next change cycle for KTM in MX land. I don't know if Husky will stay on that track, or jump a year ahead. Maybe The 15 will be something to write home about.
