  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250's gear ratios?

I guess they gear them to match the racing conditions over in Europe.
If someone stateside would make a gearset to match the KTM ratios they would sell a bunch.

Do you think I'll be able to do 10 miles on the highway @ 60mph on a 2010 TE250 with a 49t rear sprocket?......without blowing it up?

I wouldn't run my 2008 TE250 at that speed unless I had 15-48 gearing but I am extra conservative.

One thing that might help here is to don't hold the motor at an even RPM ... try to open it, close it ... speed up a little, slow down ETC as you ride ... sort of 2-stroke it here :) Maybe hit the ditch from time to time if possible

What about the teeth # on the front sprocket?

Greg

Maybe when it breaks in I'll try it.

I have a 10mile piece of mega Turnpike I've got to run to get to a local track.

I guess I can put 55 in the right lane and hope not to get run over!

Husky flyer about 12-tooth sprocket?

I have tried 13-52. For me first is still to high.

There is a flyer from Husqvarna about using a 12 tooth front sprocket.

What, pray tell, does this flyer tell us?

That the sprockets need to be 12/50! instead of 13/50...

Yes I tried 13/52. The gap between first and second was also to great. I now have 12/52 which is great. I can always find the correct gear to use.

I would like to try 54 on the back but not sure if this is possible?
