• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

yes know this ... small details .. will cut off unessesary things ... but what s about the geometry of the frame? ..
and the Euros don t ride XC, only motocross or enduro .. CR or WR

the lc WR will have the tighter steering geometry. im not sure of the difference btw cr and wr in that regard. wr has the full frame loop, undercase bars and bigger muffler etc so I would go for a WR if you can find one and add the CR longer fork tubes and dampers etc while removing the extra frame tubes if you done want them.

you should be able to find a spec sheet on the different models, I think visiteur has most of the spec brochures.

enjoy the journey

this is exact the compination I want to use ... WR 400 lc Frame and ITC CR dampers and a long '85 CR fork. Wish I have one from 86/87 for better inside.

look at the frame before you buy one, i thought the water cooled had a kink in the front down tube down near where the pipe exits the cylinder

yes You are right, fronttube is doubling for center twostrokes exit at front, but doesn t matter. The exhausts for fourstroke is coming out above the kink.
The challenge is more the carb. Have to modify the tubes in this area, but no problem, have done this for a buddy and he s riding with this for years

the silver looks superb, hope you don't find any water anywhere..... I would knock the compression damping back on those shocks ...they look a little stiff to me!

I'll be damned. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what was going on in the "parts" picture above. Wha la! That's f'n creative.
Rick

the complete bike ... and first ride at the forrest
